Halstead is situated
across the Suffolk Essex border, in a prime
location for visiting some of the region’s
most notable historic sites.
The Roman town of Colchester is less than
30 minutes away and the Colne Valley is even
closer. Nearby Long Melford boasts an array
of historic sites, such as Kentwell Hall,
and features one of the longest village high
streets in England.
Incidentally, this is scattered with fine
quality antique shops for those of you with
an eye for treasure! Halstead itself is an
interesting example of a traditional market
town, with many boutiques and unusual shops
remaining on the High Street.
